Superfine Vertical Mill

An ultrafine vertical mill is a specialized grinding solution designed for the production of ultra-fine powders with high consistency, low energy consumption, and stable long-term operation. Compared with traditional grinding systems, this advanced VRM vertical roller mill integrates grinding, classifying, and conveying into a single compact system, making it particularly suitable for modern industrial powder processing lines.

    Description

This ultrafine vertical mill effectively addresses common industry challenges such as high power consumption, unstable product fineness, excessive maintenance, and environmental compliance. It is widely applied in mining, non-metallic minerals, chemical processing, metallurgy, and building materials industries, handling more than 200 types of materials including limestone, dolomite, quartz, talc, mica, graphite, kaolin, coal, and coal gangue.

    Applications & Materials

The ultrafine vertical mill is suitable for a wide range of industries and materials, including:

    • Mining & mineral processing: limestone, dolomite, quartz, graphite
    • Non-metallic minerals: talc, mica, kaolin, calcium carbonate
    • Chemical industry: chemical raw materials and fillers
    • Building materials: cement additives and industrial minerals
    • Energy & metallurgy: coal, coal gangue and by-products

    Working Principle

The ultrafine vertical mill operates based on mature vertical roller mill (VRM) technology, optimized for ultra-fine grinding applications.

The main motor drives the grinding disc through a heavy-duty reducer. The screw feeder feeds raw material into the center of the grinding disc. Under centrifugal force, the material moves uniformly from the center toward the edge of the disc, where the rollers compress and shear it as it passes through the grinding zone.

A high-velocity airflow enters the mill body through the air inlet and carries the ground material upward. Fine particles pass through the powder separator, while the separator rejects coarse particles and returns them to the grinding disc for further grinding. The downstream dust collection system collects the qualified ultrafine powder as it exits the mill with the airflow.

Due to their weight, heavy impurities such as iron blocks naturally separate and fall to the slag outlet, ensuring safe and stable mill operation. Operators can precisely adjust product fineness by regulating the separator rotor speed, while the hydraulic system controls grinding pressure to adapt to materials of varying hardness.
