Shanghai, China — Yingyong Machinery has completed the shipment of two 3.6-meter-diameter overflow ball mills to a long-standing steel industry customer in Iran.
The customer operates an integrated production chain extending from iron ore mining and mineral processing to final steel production. The new mills will undertake primary and secondary grinding duties within its ore processing operation, helping provide the controlled particle-size distribution required by subsequent process stages.
The shipment represents the latest development in a business relationship that has continued for 13 years.
The order comprises one Ø3.6 × 6.5 m primary ball mill and one Ø3.6 × 8.5 m secondary ball mill. Although both machines share the same cylinder diameter, they have been configured around different feed conditions, throughput requirements and target product sizes.
The primary mill is designed to process feed ranging from 0 to 8 mm at a capacity of 120 t/h. It produces a discharge with 100% passing 1 mm and a P80 of 200 μm.
The secondary mill handles feed ranging from 0 to 1 mm at a rated capacity of 175 t/h. Its finer grinding duty targets 100% passing 212 μm and a P80 of 70 μm.

| Parameter | Primary Ball Mill | Secondary Ball Mill |
| Mill Size | Ø3.6 × 6.5 m | Ø3.6 × 8.5 m |

Rather than supplying two identical standard machines, Yingyong Machinery configured each ball mill for its specific grinding duty. Feed size, target fineness, slurry concentration, rotational speed and site installation requirements were considered when determining the equipment configuration.
For an integrated mine-to-steel operation, stable grinding performance is important to the continuity of the broader production chain. Consistent throughput and controlled product size help maintain more predictable feed conditions for downstream iron ore processing.
Yingyong Machinery’s cooperation with the customer began 13 years ago. This long-term relationship has enabled both teams to develop a shared understanding of the plant’s operating requirements, technical standards and project coordination needs.
The latest shipment is therefore more than a one-time equipment delivery. It represents the continuation of an established technical partnership built around reliable equipment supply and ongoing project support.
Following delivery, our technical team will continue to support the installation and commissioning process in line with the customer’s project schedule.
